What is Twitter?

Despite the consistant urging of friends, Facebook didn’t really catch my interest, and when I heard about Twitter I was equally indifferent. After all, who has the time? However, I did begin to realise that Twitter was a phenomenon of some decription and decided to look deeper, especially when I noticed that credible businesses were [...]

Creative Hat are pleased to announce that we have won the competition to design Motley Health’s Brand. Part of the prize was a valuable back link from Webologist for life (or the life of Webologist), which will help us with our SEO. This is the kind of prize that [...]

My friend Mr Google

It was recently brought to my attention that there is a trend among some people in the WDI (Web Design Industry) to claim an inflated personal affiliation with Google. It seems, that in an attempt to impress potential (and existing) clients they are making certain remarkable statements (via insinuation), with regard to their relationship to [...]

Creative Licence

As a young designer, I sometimes stubbornly tried to force my creativity into projects where it was neither asked for nor wanted, even to the point of occasionally arguing with the client. This is a concept for Life Chiro which I really like. Rather than use a font, this was entirely vector drawn. Much of the work in our industry is a marmite thing; it’s so subjective, but sometimes the best designs are the simplest ones.

This is not the final logo, but I really enjoyed working with this concept, and I really like the end result. It has an egyptian retro futuristic deco feel to it (if you see what I mean).

The comp for this was fairly loose, though there was much to consider. I wanted to get the elements of sun, sand & sea, yet keep the logo uncluttered and fresh.

I was fortunate enough to have some freedom with this concept. The comp was fairly loose, and this is what I came up with after several developments. It has a a subtle art-deco feel to it, and represents communication.
