Finnish Logo design

Anssi Uimonen is a talented 24 year old Finnish designer, who is a relative newcomer to the graphic design industry. His roots lie in graffiti and urban art (his canvases are daubed with the famous alias; ‘QMTK’). Anssi burst on to the graphic design scene three years ago when he began working working for a Finnish digital media agency, and now he runs his own graphic design company: Anssi Uimonen Graphic Design.
Featured work: Type treatment for Past Week
The poster type design above came through an exploration into lighting and shadow techniques in Photoshop. Having been greatly inspired and influenced by the floral typography designs out there, Anssi wanted to work on such a project himself. Just three weeks ago he received a commission to design a logo for a Finnish electro/indie pop group called ‘Past Week’. Anssi was referred to the band by one of their co-workers, and they asked him to create their brand identity. Details of this project are soon to appear on Anssi’s own blog; QMTK
Creative Hat has plans to interview this dynamic young designer later in the year, and find out what drives him, what inspires him, and what he loves and hates about the current design trends in Finland…watch this space!
